Resources for women

The following resources are available to NT women.

Daisy: gendered violence mobile app

Daisy is a mobile phone app that connects women experiencing gendered violence to services in their state and local area. Daisy is free and available on Android and iOS devices.

Daisy was developed with input from state and territory governments, and funded by the Australian Government under the Second Action Plan of the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022.

It is also a resource for workers, friends and family to both:

  • gather information on available support services
  • and learn about the nature and extent of gendered violence.

How it works

Daisy uses technology to connect women to services while recognising that technology can be used by perpetrators to control, stalk and intimidate.

Daisy's security features include:

  • a get help button that allows users to quickly call 000
  • a quick exit button to leave screens that contain service information
  • an emergency ‘text a friend’ function that can be pre-scripted
  • technology tips on how to increase safety online and when using mobile phones.

What Daisy does

Daisy provides functions and information including:

  • your rights and options
  • support services
  • how to get help
  • voice over option for women with visual impairment or low literacy
  • available in 28 languages, with an option to connect to a translating service
  • ability to call or text a friend with a pre-scripted number and message
