About the Office of Gender Equity and Diversity
Within Territory Families the Office of Gender Equity and Diversity provides policy advice across government and directly to the Minister for Territory Families in relation to gender equality, gender diversity and inclusion in the Northern Territory.
The Office undertakes project work to progress key reforms and administers grants and scholarships to provide equal opportunities for all Territorians to reach their full potential through gendered approaches.
The Office of Gender Equity and Diversity incorporates the former Office of Women’s Policy and the Office of Men’s Policy and now includes gender diversity.
The Office of Gender Equity and Diversity will be developing the Northern Territory’s first Gender Equality Framework in 2019.
Community consultations to inform the framework will be commencing soon. You will also be able to provide input via the ‘Have your Say’ website.
Consultations for the Development of a Northern Territory Gender Equality Framework
The Northern Territory Government is undertaking consultations to develop a Northern Territory Gender Equality Framework and have released a consultation document designed to guide consultations. Through focusing on priority areas for action the Office of Gender Equity and Diversity is seeking input from Territorians from all walks of life to gain insight and localised knowledge into how gender affects each of us in our daily lives.
Please read the consultation document and provide a submission, respond to the questions in the consultation document or provide input to the Office of Gender Equity and Diversity.
Submissions, responses or feedback can be made up until 1 August 2019. There are a number of ways that you can comment on the development of a Northern Territory Gender Equality Framework.

Register your interest – Northern Territory Government board member
The Northern Territory Government (NTG) boards and committees play an important role in good governance by providing independent and expert governance or advice. They provide an effective link between government and the community.
To register your interest in serving on an NTG board, visit NTG Careers in Government. Using the search parameters, search the keyword ‘board’, complete the registration form and upload your CV and other required documents, including visa documents. Registrations are uploaded onto an EOI Boards Register which is accessible by all NTG agencies. As vacancies arise, NTG officers can search for potential nominees on the EOI Board Register. Submitting your EOI registration form does not guarantee appointment to a board, but it does indicate your agreement for your CV to be accessible by NTG agencies.
