NT Youth Week - Set to inspire!

The annual NT Youth Week is set to impress and inspire young people across the Territory again in 2019.

This years’ events will be held from 8 – 18 April 2019 with the theme “Living in Colour” a testament to the many young Territorians living vibrant and happy lives.

2019 NT Youth Week Ambassador.

Internationally trained dance choreographer and Darwin local Rochelle Cabry has been named the 2019 NT Youth Week Ambassador. After spending four years abroad in Paris and Norway, Rochelle returned home to share her passion for dance and fitness by teaching youth in Darwin and in remote communities across the NT.

Rochelle applied for the role in a hope to make greater connections with young people in the community she loves.

“I would like to learn more about what the youth of the NT feel is important and assist where I can,” she said.

“NT Youth Week provides a massive range of opportunities for young people whether it be launching your own event, learning new skills or connecting with new people – there is so much going on and I think we should all make the most of it!”

The Territory Families Office of Youth Affairs has been working tirelessly to lock down an extensive list of grant recipients who will host events and activities for Territory youth during the week.

A total of 27 organisations have been awarded funding as part of the grant process, with a diverse group of recipients allowing for a calendar of events that will be suitable for a range of age groups and interests.

The events and activities will be held in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Alice Springs, East Arnhem and the Roper Gulf region.
